Salsa Verde

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb tomatillos (about 10-12 medium), husked and rinsed

  • 1 small white onion, roughly chopped

  • 1 jalapeño, stem removed (seeds optional for more heat)

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

  • ½ tsp Knorr Chicken Bouillon powder (or ½ cube, crushed)

  • ½ cup fresh cilantro leaves, packed

  • Juice of 1 lime (about 2 tbsp)

  • Salt to taste (if needed)

Instructions:

Boil the Tomatillos

  • Place the tomatillos, jalapeño, onion, and garlic in a medium pot.

  • Add enough water to cover the ingredients.

  • Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and simmer for 8-10 minutes until the tomatillos turn a dull green and are softened.

Drain & Blend

  • Drain the tomatillos, jalapeño, onion, and garlic.

  • Transfer everything to a blender or food processor.

  • Add cilantro, lime juice, and Knorr Chicken Bouillon

  • Blend until smooth but still slightly chunky.

  • Taste and add more seasonings, if desired.

  • Enjoy!
